The charity was established in 2003 by a group of people that wanted to help mobility impaired people to get out and about in the centre of Chelmsford. Since then we have extended the scheme by having scooters to hire for taking away on holiday in the UK. We have a wide variety of scooters and wheelchairs available to use to suit different mobility needs.
The charity is overseen by Trustees whose legal responsibilities state they must act in the charity’s best interests, manage the charity’s resources responsibly by implementing appropriate financial controls, manage risks and act with reasonable care and skill. They are assisted by a Manager who works part time, and oversees the general running of the charity. Volunteers are the core of the charity and work on reception and helping with scooter retrieval. Without volunteers the charity would not be able to continue.
We are currently looking for Trustees to help shape and guide the Charity into the future. If you think you can help us please contact us directly on 01245-357097
