With the increasing use of pedestrianised shopping areas it was becoming more difficult for people with mobility problems to access large areas of the city so Meadows Shopmobility was established.
The charity is overseen by a group of Trustees whose legal responsibilities state they must act in the charity’s best interests, manage the charity’s resources responsibly by Implementing appropriate financial controls, manage risks and act with reasonable care and skill. They are assisted by a Co-ordinator who works 16 hours a week and oversees much of the day to day administration. Volunteers put into practice the plans and procedures to be undertaken.
